Sartoria Raffaniello
MTM / Bespoke Suit
Sartoria Raffaniello is operated by “Noriyuki Higashi” who is considered one of the most respected tailors in Japan. He’s part of the new generations who travelled to Italy to learn the craft. His house style is based on Neapolitan cut. Soft and natural shoulders, with minimum padding. One of the most distinctive features is the drape around the chest, giving elegance to the owners.
Career
Noriyuki started his career as a maker at the renowned Ring Jacket in Osaka. He has always sought to improve his skills reading through many tailoring books while at Ring Jacket. Nevertheless, he soon realized that honing his craft and skills in Japan was not sufficient. He embarked on his journey to Italy, apprenticing under Antonio Pascariello, legendary tailor in Naples. Antonio has trained a host of top Japanese tailors besides Noriyuki, including Ueki san of Ciccio, and also Jun of Sartoria Napoletana. At Pascariello, he was given a name “Raffaniello”.
Albeit brief period at Pascariello, Noriyuki had to return to Japan due to family matter.
He worked at Strasburgo’s House Tailor Lab in Minami Aoyama, Tokyo, which is a home to Japan’s best garment makerssuch as Yamagami Shirt. In 2017, Noriyuki moved on to set up his own atelier at Semba Building, which is particularly known as a home to classic menswear shops including Batak Tailor, and The Way Things Go Shoeshine Bar in Osaka.

Bespoke
Exclusively at Trunkshows
If you want something critically special, Raffaniello Bespoke will be the perfect answer.
In bespoke, Higashi san creates the customer’s own pattern from scratch, translating the measured numbers(measuring points are even more than MTM’s), non-quantitative characteristics of his/her physique, and his/her preference.
His bespoke suits are sewed by Higashi san with the greatest attention to detail.
The first fitting or la prima prova, allows further fit.
The prestige option, “Senza Macchina“, or “Without sewing machine”, is also available. For Senza Macchina garments, 100% of the sewing processes is done by his hands, which sometimes astonishes European tailors.
